Qredits enters Aruba market

Last week Elwin Freek, director of Qredits, and Prime Minister Mike Eman of Aruba signed an agreement that will contribute to the reinforcement of entrepreneurship in Aruba. Prior to this, Qredits and the Aruban government have developed a concrete action plan.

The goal is to offer entrepreneurs in Aruba more opportunities to start their own business in a good way and to give existing entrepreneurs the opportunity to invest.

Business loans up to $25,000

Through this joint mission Qredits and the Aruban government want to encourage the people of Aruba towards entrepreneurship. Starting April 1, 2017 Qredits will offer microcredit business loans up to $ 25,000 and through volunteer mentors guide aspiring entrepreneurs in the process of setting up their own business. The Aruban Qredits branch will be staffed by a local loan officer/business advisor.

Education program

In 2017 the educational program called BeYourOwnBoss will also be offered at various schools in Aruba. The program will enable students to become acquainted with the aspects of entrepreneurship at an early age. Through the program, the student will be introduced to the real business world, receive guidance from a business consultant, write his/her own business plan and eventually pitch this in front of a jury panel.

E-learning How to Write a Business Plan

Over the next few months the Qredits e-learning How to write a business plan will be translated into Papiamento and English and adapted to the local situation on Aruba. With this handy tool an entrpreneur can write his/her own business plan and gain insight into what type of entrepreneur he or she is. In cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce in Aruba this e-learning will be actively offered to aspiring entrepreneurs,


Qredits will meet a real need for alternative financing on Aruba by providing entrepreneurs with a good business plan a microcredit loan up to $ 25,000.
